Being graduated engineer from ‘Ecole Centrale de Lyon’, Sophie Nachman-Ghnassia started in electronics and simulation software for airborne radars in Dassault airfighters at Thales aeronautics (formerly Thomson-CSF) for some years. Since 1990, she has been working in the telecommunications and internet area.
From 1990 to 1995, at Thales communication, she was in charge of various programs dealing with networks for Defense. Then, from 1995 to 1998, still at Thales Communication as the main contractor, in the frame of the European TACIS program, in Russia, she coordinated the launch of ISP activities and co-development of a VSAT Satellite Operator that is also a ground stations producer. Following that, in flourishing ecosystem of allocation of 3G licenses and of unbundling of the copper local loop, she was responsible for marketing and business development at Siemens (formerly Siemens ICN) for the fixed and mobile networking solutions targeting the French Telcos and ISP market.
From 2001, she has been working at France Telecom where she was first of all in charge of the innovation area of converging internet mobile services for France Telecom subsidiaries that were ISPs and content providers or aggregators in Europe and secondly, of the innovation department of internet and mobile services for Yellow Pages (PagesJaunes) company. Furthermore, she handled the technical support between the Research and Development division and the France Telecom subsidiaries located in the Middle East and Africa. She integrated the network and IT corporate division in 2008 and now she is in charge of the CDN strategy from the technical side.
