Simon Sutton is president, HBO International and Content Distribution, for Home Box Office. He is responsible for HBO’s international channels and for overseeing worldwide distribution of HBO programming through its HBO Home Entertainment, International Television Distribution and Domestic Distribution businesses.
HBO International includes HBO branded networks – the majority-owned HBO Asia and HBO Latin America and the wholly-owned HBO Central Europe – that bring HBO to over 60 countries and territories around the globe.
HBO Home Entertainments markets an extensive array of programs on DVD that are distributed in both the U.S. and over 70 countries worldwide. HBO Home Entertainment also distributes HBO programming via new internet based platforms such as iTunes.
HBO’s International Television Distribution division distributes HBO programming to international television markets and HBO Domestic Distribution supervises the domestic distribution of HBO programming, including syndication and basic cable sales.
Prior to joining HBO, Sutton was executive vice president, International Television at MGM Worldwide Television Distribution, where he oversaw all sales and television distribution activities for MGM and NBC Studios’ programming outside the U.S. Before MGM, Sutton worked at both United International Holdings and McKinsey & Co.
Sutton holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University. He is the secretary and a director of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
