Dr Nilo Mitra is President of the Open IPTV Forum, the global IPTV industry specifications and certification organisation. He is also Engineering Director (Systems) at Ericsson, and coordinates Ericsson's standardization activities in the area of IPTV. He has been working on IPTV standardization for the past six years, in particular with the establishment of the Open IPTV Forum. Previously he was chairman of the Forum's Architecture and Solutions Working Groups, which produced two releases of the IPTV Solution specifications during his tenure. Dr Mitra is intimately aware of all the strategic challenges facing the IPTV industry and is dedicated to enabling the OIPF's goal of an eco-system for mass market IPTV, which is slowly emerging through the introduction of connected TVs using the Forum's specifications. The Open IPTV Forum enables and accelerates creation of a mass market for IPTV by defining and publishing free-of-charge, standards-based specifications for end-end IPTV services of the future.
