Ahmad Abu Zannad

Ahmad Abu Zannad is the Strategic Planning Director at Leo Burnett overseeing the formulation, planning and execution of communication strategies for clients in Saudi Arabia.

Before Joining Leo Burnett, Ahmad was the head of the Consumer Marketing Division at Zain Saudi Arabia. Within the scope of his responsibilities he oversaw all the marketing research studies, the formulation of marketing strategies and the design of all value propositions attempting to acquire, retain and/or develop consumers form the mass segment, youth segment, high-end segment, expatriates segment, visitors segment and any other niche segment in the Saudi market.  He has been deeply involved in the launch project for Zain in Saudi Arabia and he was part of the team designing and executing the market entry strategy for Zain in Saudi Arabia.

Prior to Zain Saudi; Ahmad managed the mass and youth segments at the marketing department in Zain Jordan (previously known as Fastlink).  He has been involved in the design and execution of Zain’s successful defensive marketing strategy against the two new market entrants into the highly competitive Jordanian telecom market. Ahmad has also managed the successful rebranding of Fastlink to Zain.

During his time at Zain, Ahmad received 4 awards and "Thank You" letters from Zain's CEO, CMO, and HR director for his outstanding achievements.

He has published several articles among which  is the highly appraised one on “Gender Differences in Telecom Related Behavior”  published in the Telecom Review on August 2009. He has been abducted by informa telecom to be a member of the “who’s who in Saudi telecom” to present his work on “Developing ARPUs from Niche Market Segments in the Saudi Telecom Market”.  He is a sought after speaker within the telecom industry where he spoke at the LTE MENA and IP&TV MENA forums.

Ahmad holds a Bachelor of Commerce from John Molson School of Business (Concordia University in Montreal, Canada) with a major in Decision Science and Operations Management.
